ASA of Central Pennsylvania (ASACP), incorporated in 1969, is a non-profit trade association representing subcontractors, specialty trade contractors and suppliers of goods and services in 31 counties throughout Central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley.
ASACP Members work in every specialty trade from steel erection and masonry to drywall and painting, as well as every related service industry from insurance to accounting to legal services.
ASACP is affiliated with the American Subcontractors, Inc. and is part of a nationwide network of local and state chapters representing the single voice of all subcontractors, specialty trade contractors and suppliers in the construction industry.
We are the ONLY organization dedicated exclusively to the business issues affecting subcontractors, who perform more than 85% of the work on all commercial construction, in both the public and private sectors.

Over the past few years, the construction industry in Pennsylvania has gone through some very difficult times. And while the volume of work begins to pick up, the threat of slow or non-payment for the work you complete is still at great risk. Indeed, the failure rate of construction companies is greater during the beginning of recovery than during the recession itself.
Furthermore, in Pennsylvania, our payment protections are under assault both judicially (Sloan v. Liberty Mutual) and legislatively (SB 473 and HB 982). With this in mind, the American Subcontractors Association of Central Pennsylvania requests your thoughtful consideration of your payment and collection experiences over the past few years by completing the attached survey. Your time commitment which should require no more the twenty minutes (and you will need your most current financial statements).
Our Task Force on Payment will review and compile the responses to identify trends in payment and collection practices and an executive summary of the results highlighting those trends and the state of prompt payment in our industry.
This information will be used to help fight for the rights of Subcontractors in Pennsylvania.
Your feedback will help us to make your voice heard in the State Capitol through our government and industry advocacy efforts. It will also allow us to offer our members quality educational opportunities on the issues that affect you and your business.
